Q2. I am having difficulty in REFILLING my Prometheus lighter.  Can you give me some tips which will help me?

A. Please make sure to drain the air out of your gas tank before refilling. You can drain the air by pressing the refill inlet valve with a small screwdriver. If you hear the hissing sound when you press the refill inlet valve, the air is being drained. After draining the air, please refill your lighter with the double-refined Prometheus butane gas.

By the way, if you see a gas coming out when you press the refill inlet valve, stop the draining immediately. Your lighter is filled with butane gas and does not need refilling.  Please make sure to extinguish your lighter and put it away from your face before you drain the air out of the gas tank.
Please visit the following section of our web site to read the detailed refilling instructions.

Q3. What kind of BUTANE GAS do I have to use for refilling my Prometheus lighter?

A. We highly recommend you to use our double refined Prometheus Butane Gas Refill Cartridge for your Prometheus lighter. Impure butane gas will clog up your lighter.

Q4. The FLAME HEIGHT of my Prometheus laser flame, jet turbo lighter has gotten very short (or would not come up any more) even though I turn up the flame height adjuster.

A. When you use Prometheus Laser Flame, Jet Turbo lighters , the flame height might get shorter than your desired level or the flame will not come up even though you turn up the flame height adjuster all the way to the maximum. This happens when the pressure of the gas tank drops. Time to time, the pressure drop happens to the gas tank of the Laser Flame, Jet Turbo lighters.

In this situation, do not try to turn the adjuster beyond the preset maximum level. If you force the adjuster to turn, you will damage the built-in stopper and your lighter will malfunction.

Instead, open up the bottom of the lighter and take out the stopper and adjust the flame height to your desired level and then, close the bottom of the lighter. After removing the stopper, turn the flame height adjuster by a quarter turn at a time until it reaches your desired level. Please visit the following section of our web site for the detailed instruction on how to remove the stopper to reset the flame height.

Quick Maintenance Tips for the Laser Flame Jet Turbo Lighter

Be extremely cautious about the flame shooting up high and do not turn the adjuster more than a quarter turn at a time. Turn the flame height adjuster only after the flame is extinguished. Hold away from face while lighting.

Q5. The OUTER CASE FINISH of my Prometheus lighter has been scratched (or tarnished) and I am wondering whether it is covered under the warranty.

Q6. I live in a HIGH ALTITUDE area in Colorado.  When I purchased my Prometheus jet turbo lighter in Miami during my vacation, it worked well, but as soon as I returned home, my Prometheus jet turbo lighter will not work consistently.

A. We do not recommend the smokers to use our jet turbo or electronic piezo lighters in a high altitude region such as Swiss Alps, Mexico City (Mexico), Colorado (the U.S.), New Mexico (the U.S.) and Reno (Nevada in the U.S.). Due to the paucity of oxygen, the jet turbo and electronic piezo lighters will not function properly in a high altitude area. The high altitude means any elevation over 1,500 feet. In the high altitude region, we highly recommend you to use our flint lighters .

Q7. What is the best way to LIGHT THE CIGAR OR CIGARETTE with my Prometheus lighter?

A. In lighting your cigarette, light it with the top tip of the flame.

For your cigar, please put your cigar one inch away from the flame hole and slowly rotate the lighter.  In no time, you will be able to to light your cigar.  The best way to light your cigar is to light it with the heat from the flame but not with the flame itself so that you will not scorch the cigar wrapper.  As you know, the wrapper is crucial to cigar taste. If you smoke a cigar with the wrapper peeled, you will notice that the cigar does not taste good at all. So, do not scorch the wrapper.

Clean the flame hole once a week with compressed air such as air duster can sold at computer stores in order to prevent your lighter from clogging up.  For a detailed instruction on how to clean the flame hole with an air duster (compressed air), visit the following section of our web site.

A. Please visit the following section of our web site to view the collection of the Prometheus pipe lighters.

Pipe Lighter Collection

They are either flint or electronic piezo lighters. We do not recommend our jet turbo lighters for pipe because the high temperature of the jet turbo flame can damage your pipe.
